This website is owned and created by Nancy Kerson, a private citizen - I am not the BLM or any other branch of government!

Information about BLM adoptions is offered as a service, to help mustangs find homes and to promote public appreciation of wild horses and burros.

Please direct adoption questions to the BLM, not to me.

And I sure as heck am not a Mustang car dealership!

I have NO horses or burros for sale and am not interested in buying or listing or otherwise promoting your sale animals!

"This is my mustang mare, "Nevada Sweet Pea". I adopted her Aug. 1, 2004 at a BLM Adoption in Ocala, FL. She is from the NV Wild Horse Range NV0524, near Tonopah (Nye County), Nevada.  She was foaled in 2002.  She is a bay, about 14 hands.  I have trained her myself.  Just this past weekend, I had her on exhibition at a BLM Adoption in Jacksonville, FL.  This was her very first outing!  To think that just six months prior, she was a wild and unhandled mustang!  Everyone was very impressed with her.... The picture is from Sat. Feb. 19th, 2005 when we were visiting with folks at the BLM Adoption in Jacksonville, FL."

From Nellis (Nevada Wild Horse Range) 2004 gather at PVC, 2004-2005
The Nellis horses are calm, good-tempered animals with generally very sound conformation. Lots of reds, with palominos, buckskins, duns, and even quite a few whites. About 5% are paints. These pictures were taken by Cathy Barcomb on February 6, 2004, at Palomino Valley BLM Wild Horse & Burro Center:

John at PVC reports that the Nellis animals are curious, calm, & very friendly. Some were so curious that it was hard to take their photos - they kept coming in too close!

This one may be Lahontan, not sure....

Here are pics of another mare we adopted last march….her name is Salley (not very original). She is a 4yr old from Nellis, in NV… The 1st pic is of her when I adopted her off the internet form PVC.  The second is just recently, with her first saddling experience…she is turning out to be a great horse.
